White Henna

What should I do to prepare for my appointment?

Make sure the area for white henna application is free from lotions, oils, and perfumes. This ensures the white henna can adhere to your skin for longer lasting power. Waxing, manicures, and pedicures should be done prior as they will remove the white henna from your skin.

How is henna applied?

  • White henna paste is applied to clean, dry skin. Depending on the detail of the design, this step may take a few minutes for a simple tattoo up to 3-5 hours for a bridal henna.
  • White henna takes approximately 20 minutes to 3 hours to dry again depending on the detail and thickness of the design. The thicker the white henna, the longer it will take to dry.

*Arabic designs are known to take the longest to dry because of thick strokes and detailed floral patterns.

  • When the white henna paste has dried on the skin, it is recommended to stay away from makeup and anything that might transfer onto the white henna. Since white henna is adhesive based it tends to cling onto powders and makeup.
  • Over the next few days, the white henna tattoo will peel away from your skin on it's own and there will be no stain underneath.

Where is  white henna derived from?

White henna is a trend that started when henna artists started doing henna designs with white lotion. Nowadays, henna artists use either a white adhesive safe for the skin or white body paint to achieve the "white henna" look. There are currently no white mediums that can stain the skin safely.

How long does white henna last?

White henna comes in two forms. The waterproof white adhesive will start to peel off within 1-7 days. White body paint will wash off during the first contact with water.

Is henna safe for children and pregnant women?

White henna in both its forms is chemically produced and it is not recommended for children and pregnant women. We recommend using all-natural alternatives such as henna and jagua
